Cute Girls = Hairy Arms?

I don’t know why I never noticed before, but I recently realized that the cute girls that I know (kawaii to be exact) in my life have a similar but peculiar trait. They all have hairy arms! I can’t really confirm the genetics of the being aesthetically adorable to have fur on your limbs, but I’ve seen in happen in at least 83% of the cute girls that I meet; not that I’m trying to get fresh with them or anything, but all in the name of research.

Do yourself a favor, if you think you’re a cute girl (i emphasize girl.) check your arms now. If you have stubble, make your beauty more complete by waxing or shaving (i recommend the former) your arm. If not, err.. you can help check your neighbour?

Twitching Thumbs : Radiant Mythology

Dug out my dusty PSP box today and look what I found.

surgeon

“Surgeon General’s Warning:
Playing the Playstation® Portable may be Harzardous your Girlfriend/Wife.”

Crap. Should’ve have read that earlier. Now I’m in too deep.

On a more serious note, what has been taking up my time is both assignments (contrary to many people’s beliefs) and a neat new game I got (I use the word ‘got’ more liberally) called Tales of the World : Radiant Mythology.

Its been kickass so far, as the above screen shots will depict. Despite its cutesy outlook (on par with the Final Fantasy Series), I think what pulled me into playing the game for 35 game hours and counting is the bizarre inaneness of it all. I mean, never since World of Warcraft have I been so happy to fetch silver ore to a quest giver just for the sake of it! Somehow, the repetitiveness of questing (Please fetch *insert item here* to *insert patron/client here* -or- Kill *insert monster name here*) caught me in a viscous cycle of running back and forth from the town.

Part Monster Hunter and part Final Fantasy, you get to move around like you do in FF, but when the fight is initiated it becomes sorta like a fighting game on a 3d plane. Hard to really describe the combat, but it works.

I start off as a thief class, leveled to 49 (took me a week or so) now I just got my hunter to lvl 45 in 3 days (thanks to the brilliance of high level allies) with full RADIANT SET (OMG! Teh R like EPIC or smthIng!). You get a fuzzy feeling on the inside when you complete the armor set. I know I did.

Jaimes has his own Radiant Jaimes Set too.

Comedic Genius in the Making.

I’ve decided to try to be like Nic and change my sense of humor. But unlike him, I’ve decided to come up with my own random/deadpan/1 liners jokes (yes Nick, stop stealing from Demitri).

So here goes (try not to ask me when you don’t get the joke please?)

  • The person who came up with the phrase “killing two birds with one stone” was too ambitious.
  • I’ve always thought the word ‘recursive’ meant to sign your name twice.
  • If good things only come to those who wait, thats pretty much it for instant noodle companies ain’t it?
  • We’ve could avoided the whole Tower of Babel thing again with programming languages. But no.. some idiots had to screw it up.
  • Isn’t Fuzzy Logic a symptom of a hangover?
  • I wonder how Bizarro Superman sounds like when hes sarcastic.
  • I’m not a racist. I’m just ‘ethnically aware’.
  • I wonder if Arsonists compare lighters.
  • Why don’t you call those people with double eyelids ‘four-eyes’
  • The British must have been the suckiest sportsmen ever. In every sport they created, they get beat down by the people that they thought them to initially. Take Cricket for instance. Or football.
  • Stop typecasting singers. For me, they are only 2 types; those who could sing and those who should shut the hell up.
  • Could somebody tell the guy who coined the ‘G-string’ it looks like a T from behind?
  • Educational Institutions could lead by example and start saving paper and stop printing “This page is intentionally left blank”. Of course it is! You think we thought that you printed with Lemon Juice?
  • Water is over-rated.
  • Your nose hair is so long, theres an eco-system  within it.
  • I want to ask God what finger-nails are for. He’d say ‘opening soda cans’
  • The other day I was ordering 2 100-plus from the cafe, they told me they don’t have it that strong.
  • I always thought being dressed in your ‘Birthday suit’ meant dressing to your best. For some people, both ways are true :)

Ok thats about it for now. Will type more in a future post as I think of them.

I declare Friday as Read Comic Book Day for myself.

comic book guy

Ah. I really thank God my dad is a comic collector.

Yes, I have all the finest literature in the house.

I’ve just declared Friday as my Comic Book day, cause its usually when I have free time just to catch up with the comic book universes (and also when Dad brings back a bag load of funny books).

Currently I’m quite picky with the comics I read, but heres a list of what i’m reading off the top of my head

Marvel

Astonishing X-men – Joss Whedon’s 1st Arc was brilliant, and Cassaday’s art is beautiful. Nuff’ said

New Avengers – Not really into Lenil Yu’s art, but the current story arc is interesting

Incredible Hulk – Hulk SMASH! Anything with Hulk is awesome now following the “Planet Hulk” storyline. Just showed the Hulk in a very different light.

Runaways – Ok I pirated it, but that doesn’t underline its literary value.

D.C. Comics

All-Star Superman – You’ve got to give it to Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely, they’ve really made all those cheezy stories with Superman cool again. Don’t believe me? See the current arc with Planet Bizarro! (It made me a believer.)

CountDown – B-list characters? Check. Twisty-twisty plot? Check. All round awesomeness? Check.

Read Below to see my DC rant.

Do you have a Darkened Mind?

Just came back from a semi-long day, sweaty till my converse t-shirt stank (branded also can smelly ok!) but was really grateful that I received a Word during CG today. Ok, it wasn’t really CG, more like a combined prayer meet between 2 groups (the other CG being Tiffany’s..) but really felt that a Word of God came during worship.

Although is not an new issue, I believe I’m not alone when I say I struggle with thoughts in my head saying things like “why can’t I be like my unsaved friends, and live without a care in the world?” or “why can’t I do this just because I am a Christian?”, sometimes I feel our ‘old man’ (the flesh) just wants to remind us of our past and hope that we head back to it. I know its just a delusion set by the flesh but I really had a real revelation beyond that. Apart from Pst Kong’s classic sermon on “Others can, we can’t”, it didn’t seem adequate enough for me in the Spirit just to fall upon that sermon.

Then today, in worship, I felt God prodded me to turn to Ephesians,

17 This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of[d] the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, 18 having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, …20 …But you have not so learned Christ, 21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, 23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.”
Eph 4:17-23 (NKJV)

I just felt that the Word just spoke to me, as Paul was writing to the Ephesians, I felt God was writing this to me.

To be consecrated is one thing, but to know the purpose and the benefits of the consecration is another! It just spoke to me because sometimes we lose focus of our upward call of God, thats why we’ll feel discouraged and sidetracked.

It especially more dangerous for us creative folk, as we are on the cutting edge of creativity, we need to stay even more consecrated and focused on the cross. We’ll easily fall into the comforts of the world if we don’t guard our hearts.

I can’t really describe it in Words, but this revelation blew my mind!

20 …But you have not so learned Christ,

Suddenly, I felt as if God hit my head with a hammer, we shouldn’t be even having these types of thoughts because it was contrary to what Jesus thought to the people!

This revelation really spurred me to live even more boldly for Christ, with renewed vigor and enthusiasm. And also a new purpose for consecration to His purpose.

Nobody gets to knock Jaimes on the head with a hammer. Only God does. Oh and that drunkard at the pub.

Hinder – Lips of an Angel

awesome song.

I’ve created a new word. Sorta.

Prexactly – used to confirm a statement or a theory. Combination of the words ‘precisely’ and ‘exactly’.

Example of use :

Normal Dude : “So you mean Starscream was the coolest Decepticon ever?”

kakashi

Awesome Dude : “Prexactly.”

Jaimes is your awesome groovy friend. Prexactly.
