Just came back from a semi-long day, sweaty till my converse t-shirt stank (branded also can smelly ok!) but was really grateful that I received a Word during CG today. Ok, it wasn’t really CG, more like a combined prayer meet between 2 groups (the other CG being Tiffany’s..) but really felt that a Word of God came during worship.
Although is not an new issue, I believe I’m not alone when I say I struggle with thoughts in my head saying things like “why can’t I be like my unsaved friends, and live without a care in the world?” or “why can’t I do this just because I am a Christian?”, sometimes I feel our ‘old man’ (the flesh) just wants to remind us of our past and hope that we head back to it. I know its just a delusion set by the flesh but I really had a real revelation beyond that. Apart from Pst Kong’s classic sermon on “Others can, we can’t”, it didn’t seem adequate enough for me in the Spirit just to fall upon that sermon.
Then today, in worship, I felt God prodded me to turn to Ephesians,
I just felt that the Word just spoke to me, as Paul was writing to the Ephesians, I felt God was writing this to me.
To be consecrated is one thing, but to know the purpose and the benefits of the consecration is another! It just spoke to me because sometimes we lose focus of our upward call of God, thats why we’ll feel discouraged and sidetracked.
It especially more dangerous for us creative folk, as we are on the cutting edge of creativity, we need to stay even more consecrated and focused on the cross. We’ll easily fall into the comforts of the world if we don’t guard our hearts.
I can’t really describe it in Words, but this revelation blew my mind!
Suddenly, I felt as if God hit my head with a hammer, we shouldn’t be even having these types of thoughts because it was contrary to what Jesus thought to the people!
This revelation really spurred me to live even more boldly for Christ, with renewed vigor and enthusiasm. And also a new purpose for consecration to His purpose.
Nobody gets to knock Jaimes on the head with a hammer. Only God does. Oh and that drunkard at the pub.

Hey all! I didn’t go around snapping pictures during the conference cause I was super bz with drama and stuff, not to mention my camera was used as a prop during the Evangelistic Drama. But here are some of the pictures that I did take!
Its the Drama Ministry! Some of us who attended the Finale Night sat together near the front (thanks to *ahem* strategic placement of Bibles + Bags) and we went wild! Its a different experience sitting with this phenom people, it just feels so liberating to amongst similar people! YOU GUYS ROCK!!! 1-2-3-WHOOSH!
(Although I regret abit sitting together cause now Adrian can imitate me.)

Hey guys sorry for not updating my blog for 2 weeks, been really busy with my church’s Emerge conference. It was as if my life wasn’t my own for the tail end of these weeks, I was involved in 2 dramas, one for a talent-time contest and the other for an evangelistic service over the weekend.
Here are some pictures from my talent-time group, we did a sketch on superheroes and thank God we WON. (Else incur the wrath of flying water bottle\pencils\whathaveyou). Lets just say we’ll be decked out in SKIN soon…
Ok, thats me in the crazy doctor outfit, with Wonder Woman (Kexin), Spiderman (Nic), Storm (Rhonda), Igor (Lucas), Hock Seng (Calvin), Damsel (Leila) and of course our wonderful Hulk! (Melvin)
I’m pretty still much whacked out by the whole weekend that I went into deep slumber on Sun night! I’ll upload pictures and elaborate on my experiences at the conference soon.
Oh yes we would like to thank the following people.. Sandy and Jaz for their help in directing us (yes yes act more downstage
), Jeff for helping us with the soundtrack, Andrew Tan for making pizza for us, the coordinators of Emerge Talenttime for everything to run smoothly (well almost.) and of course the Covulusing Twitching Chicken for their… I mean.. his anonymous donation!

Alas, Chelsea, you’ve tried and even though you failed to progress to the Champions League Finals this year again, I still love you even more. You declared that you would fight on 4 fronts this season, the people said you were mad, crazy and overly-ambitious; I said you were brave, not resting on your laurels as Prem Champs.
I’ve seen you battered and bruised through the season, with many players playing rotation at the medical center (with one coming out with rugby headgear too!) , and yet, despite all this, you fought on, with all your might, never letting another team inch any closer to the title. You’ve moved on from fighting as Romans’ to fighting as Spartans! It is true, that when this season is done, you will dine in hell (also known as Old Trafford on May 9th)!
But before that, I would like to get up to my feet and give a salute to players of Chelsea FC who make this season possible; Drogs, Essien, Frankie, Petr, JohnT, Ricardo, Cashley, Sheva, Balls, and the rest of the Subs bench (You included JoeC and SWP!)
And last but not least I will give the two-fingered salute to my favourite manager and part time comedian of all time Ol’ Jose Mourinho! You’ve made Chelsea more complete and I’d just tune in the post-match conference everytime I need a good laugh!
Heres to you Chelsea! Theres always next year for the Champs League (hopefully we’re not playing THEM again) and don’t give up just yet, we’ve got 2 more trophies to snatch this year!
Played soccer yesterday morn with da boys, quite a long session; started at 9 ended and ended around 1. Blame myself for not having proper warm-ups and cooldowns, my right calf cramped up and my left followed soon after! Could barely make it to my room when my thighs also followed suit. It was really outta a funny movie when the toes decided to go wayward too! They were making the Vulcan salute from Star Trek, except that my toes where moving apart instead of my fingers!
‘Live long and prosper’ indeed.
In the uncommon mixture of hilarity and pain, I suddenly had a revelation of the Word of God! Rhemas do come when you least expect them and even then they somehow manage to catch your attention!
I was reminded of 1 Cor 12, where Paul mentions that we Christians are part of the Body of Christ. How does that relate to my situation you may ask?
Well, we are all to play a part in the Body of Christ, using the God-given talents to expand God’s Kingdom on this earth. However when we are disobedient, do not heed the Word of God or stray away from the purpose of these talents, we may actually prevent the Power of God from actually giving us victory in our individual lives! We do not progress and want to move away from the vision He had/has given to us.
So in a sense, our disobedience are sorta like a muscle cramp to the Body, a cramp happens when a muscle is abused or not functioning properly. The proper conditioning (warmups and cooldowns) and nourishment is needed for it operate in order.
When our muscle cramps (or rather when MY muscle cramps up), movement is hindered in the Body. When we are disobedient, we hinder the move of God in the corporate body; be it in our cellgroups, church-wide or in the Christian fellowship that we’re in.
The misconception is that if one individual goes astray the rest of the Body will still move on, this belief is actually far from the truth! Its true that the Body will still battle on towards the vision, but movement will hindered; members close to this person will be affected, leaders will have to do some ‘damage control’ among the cellgroup etc. It is very rare for an individual not to affect anyone else.
So how do we prevent ‘cramps’?
Conditioning.
Just as a human muscle needs proper conditioning and exercise for it to function, a believer must be conditioned and exercised in the faith to ensure a healthy walk with the Lord. How can we exercise our faith? With prayer and supplication (Phil 4:6)! Paul says in the Bible that he “prays more than you all” not boastfully, but as an encouragement to the Body of Christ. Through prayer we build our own spirit and our relationship with Christ, so that in the race that we run in life we do not ‘cramp’ up; we will allow no foothold for doubt to hang onto our life!
Also we need Nourishment.
Nourishment comes from the Word of God. Just as we make sure what goes into our diet is sufficient and good for our own bodies, we must make sure we are feeding upon the Word of God daily. A malnourished muscle would not function properly; it would be too weak to carry out the task appointed to them. Neither will a lazy muscle function properly, as it would fail to perform optimally due to lack of exercise!
We must be continually monitoring our own lives so that we do not stray away from the vision that God has given to us, watching and ensuring that we receive adequate ‘conditioning’ and ‘nourishment’ that will lead us to ‘cramping’ the Body of Christ as a whole. Be helpful to those fellow brothers and sisters that are down, ‘nurse’ them back so that they can move together with the Kingdom Vision.
Keep running the race, and fight the Good Fight!
Guess I’ll remember this whenever I get a muscle cramp eh?
